Volleyball Recap: Copley Indians vs. South Rebels

If Copley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Rocky River last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Copley Indians lost 3-0 to the South Rebels on Tuesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2022.

While Copley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-21.

South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Skowronski out in front who had 13 digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Boruszkowski, who had three digs and three aces.

Copley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7. As for South, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

Copley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South, they will challenge Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland is coming into the match with six straight victories at home, so South will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
