Baseball Game Preview: Rockford Christian Royal Lions vs. Genoa-Kingston Cogs

The Rockford Christian Royal Lions will head out on the road to take on the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Rockford Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Boone, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Royal Lions fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Royal Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Genoa-Kingston came up short against Rockford Christian on Tuesday and fell 10-7.

Rockford Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Genoa-Kingston, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Rockford Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Genoa-Kingston in their previous meeting on Tuesday, winning 10-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royal Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
