Teiyon Halbasch Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Thursday, Layton had to settle for second even though Teiyon Halbasch put up the best numbers he has all season. Halbasch picked up 307 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.

Layton is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. They and Weber are set to duel on Wednesday.

Hoopes Came Up Big in Farmington's 28-20 Win

Farmington picked up their third consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Travis Hoopes. Davis had no answer to Hoopes as he rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Hoopes has become a key player for Farmington: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.

Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Hoopes and Farmington will take on Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Owen Simkins produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Fremont to the win on Thursday. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 70 yards.

The win (which was Fremont's seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Simkins and Fremont will venture away from home to take on Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Another Game with at Least 101 Receiving Yards from Bode Sparrow

Bode Sparrow's receiving tear continued on Thursday as he dropped his third-straight game with 101+ receiving yards dating back to last season. He picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Davis's success: when he posts at least 100 receiving yards the team is 5-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Davis' loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. Sparrow and Davis will head out on the road to take on Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
