Grace Kingery leads North Ridgeville to victory over Avon Lake

The North Ridgeville Rangers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Avon Lake and snuck past 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win North Ridgeville has posted yet this season.

It was another big night for Grace Kingery, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Kingery is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Eldridge, who scored eight points along with three steals.

North Ridgeville pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Avon Lake, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.

North Ridgeville will head out on the road to take on Steele at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Steele will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 190th, while North Ridgeville is ranked 36th). As for Avon Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Avon at 12:30 p.m. Avon has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
