Baseball Recap: Valmeyer Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Valmeyer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dupo Tigers on Wednesday, sneaking past 7-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 last Friday.

The team relied heavily on Luke Blackwell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Valmeyer is 5-2 when Blackwell posts two or more runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Landon Roy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Valmeyer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-16 record this season. As for Dupo, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Coming up, Valmeyer will be taking part in a tournament against Gibault Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dupo, they will head out to face off against Lebanon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
