Basketball Recap: Lausanne Collegiate Falls Despite Big Games from Zuri Mcclure and Patrick Thompson

Lausanne Collegiate suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2024 on Friday. They lost 69-49 to the Harding Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-63 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Lausanne Collegiate had strong showings from Patrick Thompson, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 17 points, and Zuri Mcclure, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five boards. That's the most assists Mcclure has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordan Richardson, who put up six points.

Harding Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Fred Martin, who scored 12 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Martin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Chazaiah Curry was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Lausanne Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Harding Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Lausanne Collegiate will take on Evangelical Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harding Academy, they will square off against St. George's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (St. George's has won eight straight at home, while Harding Academy won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
