Williamston dropped their record down to 15-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Lansing Catholic Cougars, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since April 11th.

Williamston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thea Fortin, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As for Lansing Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

On Lansing Catholic's side, Zoey Gruber made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Gruber has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Taylor Dunneback was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season. Avery Dunneback was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lansing Catholic beat Williamston by a score of 15-9 later that day.
