Volleyball Recap: Newton Falls Comes Up Short

Newton Falls lost against Mineral Ridge back in October of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Rams. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-7, 25-12.

Jada Blutcher paced Newton Falls' offense, picking up six kills. Blutcher got some help from Torrie Fanton and her 11 assists.

Tomlyn Sandy had a dynamite game For Mineral Ridge., getting 16 digs and two aces. Sandy is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Newton Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mineral Ridge, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Newton Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Liberty on the 23rd. As for Mineral Ridge, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against McKinley on the 23rd.
