Syrjieo Flowers leads Boca Ciega to victory over Osceola

Recap: Boca Ciega Pirates vs. Osceola Warriors

After losing to the Osceola Warriors the last time they met, the Boca Ciega Pirates decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Boca Ciega managed a 59-54 win over Osceola on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Boca Ciega has won by exactly five points.

Syrjieo Flowers was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Naylor, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Osceola still got an impressive performance from Talon Brooks, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Brooks scored a full 35.2% of Osceola's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Deleeuw, who scored ten points along with three steals.

Osceola struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Boca Ciega pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Boca Ciega will head out on the road to face off against Hollins at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hollins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Boca Ciega is ranked 215th). As for Osceola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Rocks Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
