Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laytonville). They breezed by the Potter Valley Bearcats to the tune of 61-33 on Tuesday. With the Warriors ahead 30-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Potter Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Carter McBride posted 13 points.

Laytonville's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Potter Valley, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laytonville and Eureka will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eureka is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. As for Potter Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mendocino at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
