Basketball Recap: Sardis Takes a Loss

Sardis has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 47-39 to the Boaz Pirates on Friday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 50-22.

Sardis' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 21-6. As for Boaz, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Sardis will face off against Geraldine at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sardis is facing Geraldine at the right time seeing as Geraldine is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Boaz, they will host Athens at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
