Basketball Game Preview: Smoky Mountain Mustangs vs. Tuscola Mountaineers

The Smoky Mountain Mustangs will head out to take on the Tuscola Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Smoky Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Smoky Mountain turned things around against Robbinsville on Tuesday. They took down the Black Knights 50-33.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Tuscola was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 66-16 loss at the hands of Pisgah. The defeat continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost nine in a row.

Tuscola's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for Smoky Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.

Smoky Mountain took their victory against Tuscola in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 65-41. Does Smoky Mountain have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tuscola turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
