Baseball Recap: Goodwin RVT Takes a Loss

Goodwin RVT had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Cheney Tech Beavers, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-2 back in April.

As for Cheney Tech, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

For Cheney Tech's part, Morgan Salkeld was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Salkeld is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matt Marrero, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases.

Looking ahead, Goodwin RVT will take on Vinal RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gladiators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Cheney Tech, they will square off against Ellis RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
