Clyde-Savannah hasn't had much luck against Gananda Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Golden Eagles will challenge the Blue Panthers at 4:45 p.m. Clyde-Savannah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Clyde-Savannah proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Williamson, sneaking past 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Eagles have posted since May 11, 2024.

Max Waldron
| 05/01/25 @ Williamson | 10 |
| 04/29/24 @ Red Creek | 9 |
| 04/23/25 @ Sodus | 8 |
| 04/24/24 @ Williamson | 8 |
| 04/28/25 @ North Rose-Wolcott | 6 |
Max Waldron made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base. Clyde-Savannah is undefeated when Waldron posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Dain Brisky and Derek Cole did most of the damage at the plate: Brisky went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Cole got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Spencer Bloomer was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Gananda Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Williamson on Tuesday. The Blue Panthers blew past the Marauders 16-6. The Blue Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Like Clyde-Savannah, Gananda Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Frick. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Frick has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Gananda Central got a massive performance out of Owen Switzer, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Will Schneemann, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Gananda Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamson only posted an OBP of .452.
Gananda Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Clyde-Savannah, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clyde-Savannah has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gananda Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clyde-Savannah couldn't quite get it done against Gananda Central in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 8-3. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
