Soccer Game Preview: East Peoria vs. Peoria Notre Dame

The East Peoria Raiders will head out to take on the Peoria Notre Dame Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Peoria's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 21 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for East Peoria's offense. They came up short against Lincoln on Wednesday, falling 9-0. That's two games in a row now that East Peoria have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, Peoria Notre Dame had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They never let the Maroons get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering Peoria Notre Dame have won 15 contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Peoria Notre Dame pushed their record up to 20-1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those four games. As for East Peoria, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-21-1.
