Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pahranagat Valley). They put the hurt on the Sandy Valley Sidewinders with a sharp 32-9 win on Friday. The Panthers have beaten the Sidewinders the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sidewinders has come to flipping the script.

Todd Hansen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. He has become a key player for Pahranagat Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Trevor Thiriot was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keadin (CJ) Christian, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.

Pahranagat Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .636. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pahranagat Valley's record now sits at 12-7. As for Sandy Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pahranagat Valley beat the Sidewinders by a score of 19-4 later that day.
