Baseball Recap: Palisade Beats Montrose for Their Third Straight Victory

Palisade waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Montrose Red Hawks a 10-0 shutout. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Danyel Ishida-Farmer tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Palisade is 5-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Tobyn Trottier was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Palisade is undefeated when Trottier posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kian Kinslow, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Palisade lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Palisade's record now sits at 10-7. As for Montrose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Palisade will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
