Football Preview: Towers Titans vs. Social Circle Redskins
The Towers Titans will square off against the Social Circle Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Towers is out to stop a ten-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Towers is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Friday, they were much more limited against McNair on Friday. They took a hard 27-12 fall against the Mustangs.
Meanwhile, Social Circle made easy work of Lamar County on Friday and carried off a 27-6 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Redskins just coasted through the last quarter.
A big part of Social Circle's victory came down to the chemistry between Luke Cross and his top target Elliot Hamilton. Cross threw for 301 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes while Hamilton picked up 121 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Hamilton got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Nelson, who picked up 144 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Social Circle wouldn't let Lamar County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Hamilton, Cory Moore, and Nick Morrell picked up one apiece.
Towers' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Social Circle, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
