Softball Recap: Johannesburg-Lewiston's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Johannesburg-Lewiston waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Hillman Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-3 on Tuesday.

Johannesburg-Lewiston got a great performance from Emerson Valentine as she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.

At the plate, Emery Lawes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jaeden Briley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two triples and one run.

Johannesburg-Lewiston pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Hillman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johannesburg-Lewiston will head out to face off against East Jordan at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Hillman, they will venture away from home to take on Mio HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
