Volleyball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garces Memorial Rams. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Addy Moore paced Taft's offense, picking up four kills. Moore got some help from Karsynn Owens and her five assists. Moore also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mckenzie Montes, racking up two apiece.

Garces Memorial can attribute much of their success to Abigail Menta, who had ten digs and one assist.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Garces Memorial, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Taft wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Golden Valley on the 22nd. As for Garces Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against West on the 22nd.
