Softball Recap: Greendale Takes a Loss

Greendale extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 10-6 in the process. They fell 13-10 to the Waukesha West Wolverines. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Noeli Schutten and Giselle Paszkiewicz did some serious damage despite the final result: Schutten went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Paszkiewicz got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Paszkiewicz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Ella Padron also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

As for Waukesha West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

On Waukesha West's side, Payton Hisel was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Hisel has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amelia Carlson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Greendale will venture away from home to square off against New Berlin Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Waukesha West, they will welcome Pius XI Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
