Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. York Falcons
Lafayette is 8-2 against York since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lafayette Rams will be playing at home against the York Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lafayette posted their closest win yet this season on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Smithfield and snuck past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Lafayette has posted against Smithfield since January 11, 2019.
Lafayette had a senior duo take command as Asa Fehrenbach scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and Jarquez Garrett scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Garrett hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Jeremiah Harrison was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, York waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 victory over Poquoson.
Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for York, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Lafayette was able to grind out a solid win over York in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 54-47. Does Lafayette have another victory up their sleeve, or will York turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
