Basketball Game Preview: Heartland Huskies vs. Giltner Hornets

After both having extra time off, the Heartland Huskies and the Giltner Hornets will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Heartland and five for Giltner.

Last Friday, Heartland had to suffer through a 66-20 loss at the hands of Thayer Central. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Emerysn Oswald put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Giltner played a tough match last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against High Plains, falling 55-29. The Hornets were down 41-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Giltner's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Heartland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Heartland strolled past Giltner in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 35-21. Will Heartland repeat their success, or does Giltner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
