Lamar hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos 59-41 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-39 back in December of 2025.

Despite the loss, Cesar E. Chavez had strong showings from Kaleb Davis, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 18 boards, and Johntta Thomas, who posted 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 53.7% of the Lobos' points, marking the third time in a row Thomas has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Lamar's win bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Lamar has already played their next contest, a 65-28 defeat against Heights on the 30th. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-41 loss against Bellaire on the 31st.
