Softball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Takes a Loss

After flying high against Franklin last Saturday, Grosse Pointe North came back down to earth. The Norsemen lost 18-8 to the Dakota Cougars on Thursday. The Norsemen have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Grosse Pointe North's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Dakota, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Grosse Pointe North will take on Chippewa Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Norsemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Big Reds have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Dakota, they will square off against Walled Lake Northern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
