Baseball Recap: Englewood Stem Has No Trouble Against Chicago Vocational

Englewood Stem got themselves on the board against Chicago Vocational on Thursday, but Chicago Vocational never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dejohne Luckett made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Englewood Stem let Taylor Robinson-Broger and Luis Romero run wild. Robinson-Broger went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Romero went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Englewood Stem now has a winning record of 2-1.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chicago Vocational: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
