Volleyball Recap: Elite Comes Up Short

Elite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Leroy Greene Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Elite was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-8, 25-23.

Armon Maxwell paced Elite's offense, picking up three kills. Maxwell really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with five. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Elite's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Leroy Greene Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elite is set to face off against their familiar foe Fortune Early College at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Leroy Greene Academy will take on rival Esparto at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
