Softball Recap: Leonard Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pottsboro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leonard). They blew past the Pottsboro Cardinals 23-15 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Lauren Pemberton was incredible, firing off two home runs and ten RBI while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kallie DeBord, who went 4-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Leonard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Leonard's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-17. As for Pottsboro, they dropped their record down to 4-11-1 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Leonard will face off against S & S Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. S & S Consolidated will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Leonard surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pottsboro, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pottsboro Cardinals take on Bells Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bells' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Pottsboro's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
