Benjamin Russell has gone 6-0-1 against Central of Clay County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Monday. The Wildcats will host the Volunteers  at 4:30  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Benjamin Russell took a nine-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Rehobeth, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats skirted past the Rebels  4-3.
 Aubrey Chapman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.
 At the plate, Benjamin Russell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lydia Montgomery, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple and one  run.  Zada Maxwell also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Benjamin Russell  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters  in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Central of Clay County was not the first on the board  last Thursday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Briarwood Christian, sneaking past  3-1. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Volunteers.
 Central of Clay County pushed their record up to 12-9 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Benjamin Russell, their win bumped their record up to 9-13-1.
 Benjamin Russell was able to grind out a solid  victory over Central of Clay County in their previous meeting  back in March, winning  6-3. Do  the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Volunteers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
