Softball Recap: Kossuth Gets the Win

Kossuth won the last time they faced Corinth and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Aggies came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aggies.

Hallie Kate Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

At the plate, Madison Mitchell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Caliann Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kossuth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corinth only managed six.

Kossuth now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Corinth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Kossuth and Corinth will both be playing Pontotoc the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Aggies will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
