Soccer Game Preview: Collegiate vs. Independent

Collegiate is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Independent a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Collegiate Spartans will be playing at home against the Independent Panthers. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Collegiate fell victim to Mulvane and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-0. That's two games in a row now that Collegiate have lost by exactly eight goals.

Meanwhile, Independent's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 4-1 to Pittsburg.

Independent's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-2.

Everything went Collegiate's way against Independent when the teams last played back in April of 2018, as Collegiate made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
