Basketball Game Preview: Helena Huskies vs. Oak Mountain Eagles

The Helena Huskies will head out to square off against the Oak Mountain Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Mountain took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Helena, who comes in off a win.

Helena is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Chilton County 61-23. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Huskies with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Oak Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Calera.

Helena has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Oak Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 6-22.

Helena suffered a grim 53-32 defeat to Oak Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Helena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
