Softball Recap: East Chambers Has No Trouble Against Tarkington

After losing to Tarkington the last time they met, East Chambers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The East Chambers Buccaneers were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the Tarkington Longhorns on Friday. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Isabella Quave made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, she also racked up three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Emily Vratis was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she also racked up two hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jadynn Smith, who scored a run and stole a base.

East Chambers is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for Tarkington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Chambers will face off against West Hardin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tarkington, they will venture away from home to square off against Anahuac at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
