Baseball Game Preview: Hammond Morton Governors vs. Wheeler Bearcats

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hammond Morton's offense. They came up short against Highland on Thursday, falling 9-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Governors were not able to get on the board.

Hammond Morton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate George, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Victor Scardine also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Wheeler's offense. They lost 11-0 to Kouts on Thursday.

Hammond Morton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Wheeler, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Wheeler's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hammond Morton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. It's a different story for Wheeler, though, as they've only averaged .317. Will they be able to contain Hammond Morton's hitters?
