Baseball Recap: Valhalla Takes a Loss

Valhalla extended their losing streak to 15 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-19. They came up short against the Helix Scotties, falling 10-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 28, 2021, but that streak is no more.

As for Helix, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

For Helix's part, not much got past Elsa Becher, who gave up just two hits to keep Valhalla off the board. Becher has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jake Johnson was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ben Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Valhalla will face off against rival Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Helix is set to square off against their familiar foe Grossmont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
