Basketball Recap: Pansophia Academy Find Success

Pansophia Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Michigan Lutheran Mustangs, sneaking past 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pansophia Pumas have posted since February 15, 2024.

Pansophia Academy found their leader in sophomore Greyson Tomlinson, who went 8-for-13 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Tomlinson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luis Martinez, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 13 points.

Pansophia Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pansophia Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for West Michigan Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pansophia Academy will head out to square off against Mendon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mendon will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Pansophia Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Michigan Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on Libertas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
