Football Game Preview: Mojave Rattlers vs. Canyon Springs Pioneers

The Mojave Rattlers will head out to face off against the Canyon Springs Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mojave is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28 points per game this season.

Mojave is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Basic, who was ranked 12th at the time (Mojave was ranked 11th). Mojave's defense stepped up to hand Basic an 18-0 shutout on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rattlers.

Mojave didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Nakaijah Beasley led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 31 points the game before, Canyon Springs was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Sunrise Mountain, falling 27-6.

Mojave's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Canyon Springs, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Mojave might still be hurting after the 20-0 defeat they got from Canyon Springs in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Mojave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
