Wharton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They never let the Strawberry Crest Chargers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Wharton got a great performance from Daniel Duno as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Duno has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Wharton's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Justis Meadows, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Wharton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.

Wharton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. As for Strawberry Crest, they moved to 16-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
