Baseball Recap: Kamiak's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glacier Peak, Kamiak was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cascade Bruins a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kamiak got a great performance from Cole Armstrong-Hoss as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The Knights are undefeated when Armstrong-Hoss allows two or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddux Phimmasane, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Koga, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Kamiak moved to 8-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cascade, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kamiak will challenge Marysville Getchell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cascade, they will square off against Meadowdale at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
