Baseball Recap: Creekside's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Creekside fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bartram Trail on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bartram Trail Bears by a score of 4-3. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Gavin Duprey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Creekside is 2-1 when Duprey allowsthree or fewer hits, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Connor Balazic was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Creekside's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bartram Trail, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

While Creekside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
