Douglas and Asbury are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Douglas is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They came out on top against St. Clair County by a score of 47-36 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Asbury). They blew past Brindlee Mountain 60-19 on Tuesday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Lions are ranked 368th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Douglas' win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Asbury, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Douglas lost to Asbury on the road by a decisive 57-41 margin in their previous matchup back in November. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
