Football Game Preview: Town East Christian Eagles vs. Hill Country K Knights

The Town East Christian Eagles will square off against the Hill Country K Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Town East Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.

On Friday, Town East Christian was fully in charge, breezing past Victoria Cobra HomeSchool 52-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Town East Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abel Esquivel, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 57 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Esquivel also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defending one pass. Benyam Hailemariam was another key receiver, picking up 92 receiving yards and two scores.

Town East Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hailemariam.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-25, which was the final score in Hill Country K's tilt against Non Varsity Opponent on Thursday.

Town East Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4. As for Hill Country K, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
