Softball Recap: Wesson Takes a Loss

Wesson has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.89 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Pisgah Dragons, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Cobras were not able to get on the board.

Wesson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaide Shoop, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Shoop is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Wesson's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Pisgah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.

Coming up, Wesson will face off against Bogue Chitto at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cobras are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pisgah, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 defeat against Puckett on the 7th.
