Bartram Trail scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Viera Hawks by a score of 16-15. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 13-6 to the Hawks when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Landon Tippie led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Jonathan Bay was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Bartram Trail dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Viera, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Coming up, Bartram Trail will take on Hagerty at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Viera, they will face off against Oviedo at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Viera's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Oviedo's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
