The Staley Falcons will challenge the Liberty North Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Staley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Staley let Blue Springs stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Friday but luckily Staley prevailed anyway. The Falcons came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.
Brody Irlbeck and Krue Patrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Irlbeck didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Patrick pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Irlbeck went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Patrick went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Staley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Liberty North is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Fayetteville. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 11-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Dathan Curp looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Bell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tucker Gamet, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
Staley's victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Liberty North, they moved to 14-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Staley was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty North in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-0. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
