Baseball Recap: Parker Triumphs

Parker's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Kingman Academy Tigers 8-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since February 23, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Rowan Holt and Fernando Baldenegro were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Holt pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Baldenegro struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. At bat, Holt went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Baldenegro went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Parker is 3-1 when Holt posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samuel Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Parker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jax Poole, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Parker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Parker now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Kingman Academy, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Parker will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Yuma Catholic at 3:45 p.m. The Shamrocks' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Broncs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kingman Academy, they will head out to face off against Williams at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.3, the Vikings 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
