Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest Rankin). They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Meridian Wildcats on Friday. The Cougars' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Their offense was hitting Meridian from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Matthew Todd led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Northwest Rankin pushed their record up to 15-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five contests. As for Meridian, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
