Softball Recap: Pittsburg Comes Up Short

Pittsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Sulphur Springs Wildcats, falling 9-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Pittsburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Sulphur Springs, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Pittsburg will venture away from home to square off against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sulphur Springs, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Sulphur Springs Wildcats duke it out with North Lamar Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Their pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so North Lamar's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
