While Decatur put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Bridgeport. Everything went the Decatur Eagles' way against the Bridgeport Bulls as the Decatur Eagles made off with a 16-0 victory. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Alexa Beeson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Moreland, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Hallie Washburn, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Decatur's record is now 5-2. As for Bridgeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Decatur has already played their next contest, a 7-5 win against Windthorst on the 6th. As for Bridgeport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-0 loss against Petrolia on the 6th.
