Preview: Branson Pirates vs. Carl Junction Bulldogs
The Branson Pirates will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Carl Junction Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Carl Junction took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Branson, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Branson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Neosho, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory.
Meanwhile, Carl Junction's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carthage. Carl Junction has not had much luck with Carthage recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Carl Junction saw an underclassman step up: Brody Pant scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jett Hocut, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Branson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Carl Junction, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
